LONDON: Because of its timing, importance, and intensity, US President Donald Trump’s luncheon meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the White House and subsequent visit to the Oval Office had a profound effect both inside and outside of Pakistan.
According to The News on Friday, the two-hour meeting between COAS Munir and Trump and his whole cabinet—which was initially planned to last an hour—is considered exceptional, historic, and rare.
Behind the scenes, a number of people worked to arrange this encounter, which improved ties between the two significant nations and had a significant impact on the region, the world, and Pakistan’s internal politics in connection to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) both domestically and internationally.
