In response to India’s imports of Russian oil, a vital source of funding for Moscow’s assault on Ukraine, President Donald Trump warned on Monday to “substantially” increase US taxes on Indian goods.
Steve Witkoff, the US leader’s special envoy, is scheduled to meet with President Vladimir Putin this week, and Moscow is looking forward to discussions.
In a post on his Truth Social platform on Monday, Trump claimed that India was “buying massive amounts of Russian Oil” and sold it for “big profits.”
“They don’t care how many people in Ukraine are being killed by the Russian War Machine,” Trump stated.
“Because of this, I will be substantially raising the Tariff paid by India to the USA.”
