Following a chat with Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump described his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European partners on Monday as “very good” and stated that he had started the process of setting up a meeting between Zelensky and Putin.
According to him, the discussion covered security guarantees for Ukraine that are offered by European nations in cooperation with the United States.
Trump stated, “At the end of the meetings, I called President Putin, and started the arrangements for a meeting, at a location to be determined, between President Putin and President Zelensky.” He also stated that negotiations between the two nations would be arranged by US Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
