Asserting that the committee appeared to have been established solely to attend to the complaints of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Defense Minister Khawaja Asif withdrew his participation from the special committee established for the Charter of Parliament on Friday.
The event transpired just one day following a furious altercation between Asif, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza during their first meeting.
Raza declared during the meeting that the parliament had been attacked and that all of the members were standing together to oppose this kind of attack. In response, Asif voiced his disapproval of the previous measures, citing a conversation he had with Lieutenant General (retired) Faiz Hamid during the Senate campaign.
