According to a statement from the Foreign Office, Pakistan has taken over as chairman of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS).
According to The News, the FO said in a statement that the development reflected the SCO member states’ faith in Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional peace and security, especially its role in fighting terrorism.
Coordinating counterintelligence, counterterrorism, and intelligence gathering activities among member nations and promoting collaboration on SCO projects are the primary responsibilities of RATS, a permanent SCO organization.
