A male suspect in a shooting at a high school outside of Denver that injured two classmates passed away from self-harm on Wednesday, according to a law enforcement official.
The suspect was one of three students hospitalized with gunshot wounds during the Evergreen High School incident, according to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jacki Kelley.
According to Kelley, the gunman used a handgun to fire both inside and outside the school.
One of the injured suffered serious injuries, while the others had non-life-threatening wounds, according to Dr. Brian Blackwood, chief of trauma at CommonSpirit St Anthony Hospital.
