In New York City, French President Emmanuel Macron had to stand by the side of the road to make room for US President Donald Trump’s motorcade.
In defiance of the United States, the French president said Monday during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) that a Palestinian state would be recognized.
President Macron also described a framework that France is working on concurrently in his UN speech.
But following his address, he was left trapped on the streets of New York City when police pulled over his car and had him give way to Trump’s convoy, according to British media.
The French president was seen on camera negotiating with police officers to allow him to cross the roadblocks.
