The existence of terrorist organizations operating out of Afghanistan, such as Al-Qaeda, the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), and other like groups, has drawn strong concern from Pakistan, China, Iran, and Russia.
Following their fourth quadripartite conference on Afghanistan, which Russia called during the 80th United Nations General Assembly session in New York, the four nations released a statement.
The four nations evaluated the worsening situation in Afghanistan and cautioned that extremist organizations constituted a serious threat to regional and international security in a joint statement released at the end of the conference.
