A cyclonic storm named “Shakhti” has developed from a deep depression over the northeast Arabian Sea, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Friday. However, the country’s coastal regions are not in danger.
The Met Department predicted that the cyclonic storm would likely proceed west-northwest after intensifying over the same area.
It said the storm was getting stronger and would move over the following 12 hours in a west-northwest direction. It will continue to shift to the west and southwest after a day.
But for the next 24 hours, fishermen have been warned not to go out to sea.
