ISLAMABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief secretary has been formally instructed by the Ministry of Interior to make sure that the provincial administration does not use state machinery as the federal government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) develop separate plans for the much-anticipated protest in Islamabad on November 24.

The interior ministry asked the province administration to make sure that the “state machinery, equipment, officials, and finances” are not used “for political protest by the political party” in a letter to the KP chief secretary on Thursday.

In response to Sunday’s “finacall” march towards the federal capital by the Imran Khan-founded party, the interior ministry issued the directions.

PTI founder Khan, who has been detained since August, was imprisoned last week.
