At the Harare Sports Club on Thursday, Zimbabwe defeated Kenya by seven wickets in the second semi-final of the Africa Region Final, guaranteeing their spot in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Kenya chose to bat first after winning the toss, and in the 20 overs they were given, they scored 122 runs for six wickets. The highest scorer, Rakep Patel, scored 65 runs off of 47 balls. Blessing Muzarabani spearheaded Zimbabwe’s bowling attack, taking two wickets for 19 runs.
Zimbabwe reached their goal in 15 overs with three wickets down, chasing 123 for win. Brian Bennett won player of the match after scoring the most runs (51 off 25 balls). Ryan Burl was undefeated at 16, and Tadiwanashe Marumani scored 39 runs.
