India is bringing the winner’s trophy dispute to the International Cricket Council (ICC) after causing controversy at the presentation ceremony after the Asia Cup 2025 final.
After defeating Pakistan by five wickets in the final on Sunday in Dubai, the Indian team declined to accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reportedly ordered the action, but Naqvi, who also serves as the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), insisted that he would give the award in his capacity as president of the ACC.
