Iran US Peace Deal Talks Near Final Agreement Amid Ongoing Tensions Tehran says agreement is closer than ever Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has said a deal with the United States to end the fighting is now closer than it has ever been. He described the talks as highly advanced and suggested that major gaps have already been narrowed. Pakistan’s mediation role Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who has been helping mediate between both sides, supported this view. He said a final agreed text of a peace deal has been prepared, and Pakistan is now working with both Washington and Tehran on the final steps needed to complete it. Conflicting statements from US and Iran US President Donald Trump reshared comments from Araghchi and urged the media not to speculate about the agreement. However, confusion followed after Iranian media published possible details of the deal. Trump rejected those reports, saying they had no link to the real negotiations and did not reflect what had been agreed. He also accused Iran of leaking false information and criticized Tehran’s handling of the process. Claims of cancelled strikes and progress Trump said he had called off planned US strikes after negotiators reached what he described as a major breakthrough. He suggested a formal agreement could be signed soon, although no official document has been confirmed by both sides. Ceasefire background and ongoing tensions A sense of normal life has returned in Tehran since the April ceasefire, but tensions have not fully disappeared. The conflict began after large scale US and Israeli strikes in February, followed by Iranian retaliation against Israel and allied Gulf states. Despite the ceasefire, both sides have still exchanged limited strikes in recent weeks, showing that the situation remains fragile. Key issues still under discussion Iranian media reported that discussions include lifting naval restrictions, sanctions relief, and financial support linked to damage caused during the conflict. One reported figure suggested around 300 billion dollars could be part of reconstruction discussions, although this has not been confirmed. Iran is also pushing for the agreement to be backed by a United Nations Security Council resolution. Nuclear programme remains central issue A major sticking point remains Iran’s nuclear programme. Western governments continue to accuse Tehran of seeking weapons capability, while Iran insists its programme is strictly for energy production and peaceful research.

Student Protests Erupt in Jakarta Hundreds of university students gathered in Indonesia’s capital on Friday. They protested against government policies they believe are hurting the economy. Many warned that continued wasteful spending could push the country toward financial trouble. The demonstrations took place amid growing public frustration over economic management and rising living costs. Concerns Over Government Spending and Free Meals Program Protesters urged President Prabowo Subianto to cut what they called unnecessary state spending. They also demanded the cancellation of a major free meals program. Students said the program has faced serious problems, including food safety incidents and corruption concerns. They argued that public funds should be used more carefully. The program remains a key part of the president’s agenda and was central during his election campaign. Government officials say it aims to reduce child malnutrition and improve education outcomes. Fuel Price Increase Sparks Public Anger Students also opposed recent fuel price increases introduced by state energy authorities. Prices for widely used fuel types rose significantly, increasing pressure on household budgets. Many protesters said rising fuel costs are making daily life more difficult, especially for middle income families. A student voice at the protest said living costs are rising while wages remain under pressure, adding to public frustration. Clashes at Key Jakarta Landmark Tensions rose as students attempted to march toward a central landmark in Jakarta. Police formed barricades to block their path. Some demonstrators pushed against the barriers, and objects were thrown during the confrontation. Police used shields to control the crowd. No confirmed reports of serious injuries appeared at the time. Social media users shared updates under a slogan that expressed fears about the country’s economic direction. Rising Economic Pressure and Public Debate The protests come during a period of currency weakness and wider economic concern. The local currency has recently dropped to new lows, adding to financial anxiety among citizens. Public debate has grown around government priorities, especially large scale social programs versus economic stability. Critics argue that spending decisions need tighter control. Officials continue to defend current policies, saying they are designed for long term national development.

# Indian Sailor Killed in Gulf of Oman Strike Days Before Wedding Anniversary ## Family Mourns Indian Sailor After Deadly Gulf of Oman Strike A tragic incident in the Gulf of Oman has left an Indian family grieving after marine engineer Patnala Suresh lost his life in a military strike on an oil tanker. The accident occurred just days before he planned to celebrate his 15th wedding anniversary with his wife. Suresh was among three Indian sailors who died when the tanker MT Settebello came under attack near the Gulf of Oman. The vessel was carrying a multinational crew, and authorities rescued 21 other crew members from the ship. ## Last Promise to His Wife Before communication stopped, Suresh spoke to his wife, Patnala Bhargavi, and reassured her that he would return home safely. The couple had been looking forward to celebrating their wedding anniversary together later this month. His words now remain a painful memory for the family. Bhargavi said she never imagined that their final conversation would become their last. ## A Career Dedicated to the Sea Suresh spent nearly 15 years working as a marine engineer. He traveled across the world and built a successful career in the maritime industry. As chief engineer, he played an important role in maintaining the vessel's operations. Although his job allowed him several months of leave each year, he preferred to stay at sea and continue working. His family said he was committed to providing a better future for his loved ones. ## Communication Suddenly Ended The family remained in regular contact with Suresh through video calls. However, those calls became difficult in early June. Soon after, all communication stopped. At first, his family believed network issues had interrupted contact. Unfortunately, they later received heartbreaking news confirming his death. According to information shared with the family, Suresh was inspecting a generator problem when the strike occurred. The impact reportedly left no time for escape. ## Family Faces an Uncertain Future Suresh leaves behind his wife, two sons, and two nieces whom he helped support and raise. His income served as the primary source of financial support for the entire household. The family is now requesting government assistance and the immediate return of his body to India. They also hope to secure support for the children's education and future needs. ## India Seeks Answers The tragedy has sparked concern across India. Government officials have begun efforts to bring back the remains of the deceased sailors. Authorities have also raised concerns about attacks on commercial vessels operating in the region. Meanwhile, many families continue to wait for answers about the circumstances surrounding the deadly strike. ## A Loss That Will Not Be Forgotten For Bhargavi and her children, the loss goes beyond headlines and international politics. They have lost a husband, a father, and the family's main source of support. As relatives and friends gather to offer condolences, the family remembers a hardworking man who dedicated his life to his loved ones and dreamed of returning home safely.
