The province is bracing for a potential catastrophic flood, according to Sindh Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro, as major rivers in the area continue to rise, endangering low-lying regions.
The provincial minister stated on Friday’s morning show Pakistan that the state of affairs in the Chenab River has not been this bad in more than ten years.
“After 10 to 12 years, Chenab has experienced a flood-like situation,” he added, adding that 1.1 million cusecs of water are on their way to the Trimmu Barrage.
