Politicians quickly called for a revision of the present gun rules in response to Friday's massacre. In response, Prime Minister Anutin promised to enact a new law governing guns. The public's ability to carry such weapons will be restricted under the proposed new legislation.Only government employes who are on duty will be permitted to carry firearms under the new rule, according to Anutin. He gave no details about the planned law, such as whether it would make gun ownership more stringent.

US Hotels Fear Weak World Cup Tourism as Bookings Fall Short Tourism expectations fail to match reality US hotels are worried the upcoming World Cup will not deliver the expected tourism boost. Many host cities are reporting lower-than-expected bookings, raising doubts about the event’s economic impact. A report from the American Hotel & Lodging Association shows demand is falling behind forecasts across most locations. The group represents more than 32,000 hotel properties and a large share of franchised hotels in the United States. Conflict between booking data and ticket sales The association says hotel demand does not match FIFA’s claim that over five million tickets have already been sold. It warns that the expected financial gains from the tournament could be lower than projected. Accusations over hotel room block bookings The report also criticizes FIFA for reserving large numbers of hotel rooms in advance. According to the association, this created artificial demand and pushed prices higher in early stages of booking. Later, FIFA cancelled a significant portion of those reservations. Hotel operators say this left gaps in availability and disrupted normal pricing patterns. FIFA has rejected these claims and does not agree with the criticism. Other factors behind weak demand Hotels say several issues are discouraging visitors. High ticket prices for matches are one concern. Expensive local transport and taxes are also adding pressure. Some operators also point to political tensions as another reason international travel interest has slowed. Economic outlook remains uncertain With lower bookings and mixed signals from ticket sales, the hospitality sector is now unsure about the World Cup’s overall economic benefit. Many hotels are preparing for weaker-than-expected revenue during the tournament period.

A US judge has ordered the release of a handwritten note believed to have been written by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein shortly before his death in prison.

What Was Written in the Note?Connection to Nicholas TartaglioneRenewed Interest in Epstein Case

The document became public on Wednesday as part of court proceedings linked to Epstein’s former cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglione. Tartaglione claimed he discovered the note hidden inside a book after Epstein reportedly attempted suicide in July 2019.

Authorities later found Epstein dead in his prison cell one month later while he awaited trial on federal sex trafficking charges. Officials ruled his death a suicide, although the case has continued to spark public debate and conspiracy theories for years.

What Was Written in the Note?

The handwritten document contains several short and emotional statements. One line says investigators looked into claims against him for months and “found nothing.” Another sentence mentions choosing the right time to say goodbye.

The note also includes phrases that appear frustrated and sarcastic. However, the brief message leaves many unanswered questions about what Epstein may have meant.

Officials have not publicly confirmed whether Epstein actually wrote the note. The authenticity of the document also remains unverified.

Connection to Nicholas Tartaglione

The document surfaced during criminal proceedings involving Tartaglione, who once shared a jail cell with Epstein. Tartaglione is a former police officer who was later convicted in a quadruple murder case.

At one stage, Epstein accused Tartaglione of assaulting him inside the prison. Tartaglione denied the accusation.

Last year, Tartaglione publicly discussed the note during a podcast appearance. The newly unsealed court filing has now brought renewed attention to the controversial case.

Renewed Interest in Epstein Case

Epstein’s death in 2019 drew worldwide attention because of his connections to wealthy and powerful figures. Since then, questions surrounding his prison conditions and final days have remained a major topic online.

The release of the alleged note has once again fueled public interest in the investigation. While some people believe the document offers insight into Epstein’s mindset, others continue to question the circumstances surrounding his death.

US authorities have not released additional comments about the newly unsealed material.

Previous Article German Tourist Wins Refund After Sun Lounger Struggle in Greece Family Awarded Compensation Over Poolside Sunbed Problem A German tourist has received compensation after struggling to find a sun lounger during a family holiday in Greece. The court ruled that the holiday experience failed to meet reasonable expectations because guests regularly reserved loungers with towels for long periods. The tourist travelled to the Greek island of Kos with his wife and two children in 2024. According to court reports, the family woke up at 6:00 AM every day to search for available loungers near the pool. Despite their early efforts, they still could not secure seats because many guests had already reserved them using towels. The man explained that he spent nearly 20 minutes each morning looking for empty loungers. In some cases, his children had to sit or lie on the ground because no poolside space remained available. The family paid more than €7,000 for the package holiday. After returning home, the tourist filed a complaint against the tour operator. He argued that the company failed to properly manage the hotel’s sunbed policy and did not stop guests from reserving loungers for hours without using them. At first, the travel company offered the family a partial refund of €350. However, a district court in Hanover later ruled that the compensation was too low. Judges decided the family deserved a larger refund of €986.70 because the holiday conditions were “defective.” The court also stated that although the tour operator did not directly manage the hotel, it still had a responsibility to ensure guests had fair access to basic facilities such as poolside loungers. The issue of “sunbed wars” has become increasingly common at popular tourist resorts across Europe. Many holidaymakers reserve loungers early in the morning by placing towels on them before leaving for hours. Last year, several viral videos from Tenerife showed tourists rushing to claim poolside spots at sunrise. Some visitors were even seen sleeping beside pools to secure better locations. Travel companies and resorts are now trying different ways to solve the problem. Some hotels have introduced time restrictions on towel reservations, while others remove unattended belongings after a certain period. Meanwhile, some regions in Spain have warned tourists that they could face fines of up to €250 for reserving sun loungers and leaving them unused for long periods. Why Sun Lounger Disputes Are Increasing Tourism experts say overcrowded resorts and limited poolside seating continue to create frustration among travellers during peak holiday seasons. Families often expect relaxing pool access as part of their vacation package, especially when paying premium prices for resort stays. As more travellers share complaints online, hotels and tour operators may face increasing pressure to improve resort management and enforce fair sunbed rules.
