A tragic incident shook Leipzig on Monday afternoon when a car drove into a crowded shopping street, killing two people and injuring more than 20 others.
What Happened in Leipzig
According to local authorities, a 33-year-old German man drove a vehicle at high speed into pedestrians in the busy Grimmaische Straße area. The attack began near Augustusplatz and continued through the central shopping zone before the car stopped.
Police reported that 22 people were injured, including three in serious condition. Sadly, a 63-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man lost their lives.
Suspect Arrested at the Scene
