ISLAMABAD China and Pakistan have decided to increase their strategic cooperation in a number of important areas, such as efforts to combat terrorism, cross-border cooperation, and smuggling prevention.
The agreement was made at a meeting in Islamabad between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a high-ranking Chinese team headed by Chen Mingguo, the Minister for Political and Legal Affairs.
The Vice President of the Xinjiang Police Academy, the Executive Director General of Police, and the Deputy Secretary of the Committee of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs for Xinjiang were among the Chinese delegates.
In the course of the discussion, the parties decided to do joint police and paramilitary drills in Xinjiang, or Gilgit-Baltistan, with GB police officers receiving training at the Xinjiang Police Academy.
