Brigham Young University wide receiver Parker Kingston has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault that authorities say took place in Utah last year.
Arrest and Charges
Parker Trent Kingston, 21, faces a first degree felony rape charge, according to the Washington County Attorney’s Office. Officials confirmed he is being held without bail at the Washington County jail in southwest Utah. His first court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
Prosecutors said a 20 year old woman reported the alleged assault to police at St. George’s Regional Hospital on Feb. 23, 2025. The report triggered an investigation that later led to formal charges.
At this time, no attorney is listed for Kingston. In addition, his family has not publicly commented on the case.
Allegations Detailed in Court Records
According to court documents, the woman told a forensic interviewer that she met with Kingston at her home. She said she made it clear that she did not want to have sex. The two watched a movie together and engaged in some sexual activity, but she stated that it did not involve intercourse.
She later left the room to prepare for bed. When she returned, she alleged that Kingston initiated sexual activity again. The woman told investigators she asked him to stop and tried to push him away. The court filing states that Kingston then raped her.
Kingston, however, told investigators that the encounter was consensual. Authorities also reviewed cellphone communications following the incident. Investigators wrote in the filing that messages suggested he intended to have sexual intercourse when he went to her apartment.
University Response
Kingston is considered one of BYU’s standout wide receivers. After learning about the charges on Wednesday, a university spokesperson said the school takes such allegations seriously and will cooperate with law enforcement.
The spokesperson added that due to federal privacy laws and university policies, BYU cannot share further details.
Legal Process Moving Forward
The Washington County Attorney’s Office emphasized that it treats sexual assault claims with seriousness. Officials also thanked medical staff and law enforcement officers who assisted in the investigation.
Kingston remains in custody as the legal process begins. The case will now move through the court system, where both sides will present their arguments and evidence.
