RAWALPINDI: Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, killing one terrorist and injuring two others, the military’s media arm said in a statement issued on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation took place on the night of March 20-21.
During the IBO, the military effectively engaged the terrorists’ area, resulting in the death of militant Chakar Liaquat and the injuries of two others. The security forces also seized guns and ammunition from the assassinated terrorist, which the ISPR claimed were “actively involved in numerous terrorist activities.”
“Sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” the intelligence agency stated.
The Panjur operation took place hours after a gang of gunmen attempted an attack on the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Complex, which was repelled by the military.
