KARACHI: Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, is thinking of taking tough action against parents who refuse to vaccinate their kids against the poliovirus.
According to a statement released by the Chief Minister’s House on Friday, the Sindh chief minister, who was presiding over a polio eradication meeting at the CM House, stated that he was thinking of blocking SIM cards, suspending national identity cards (CNICs), and canceling the passports of parents who refuse to vaccinate their children.
“I have no other options but to penalise those who shirk their national duty of eradicating polio, a responsibility that starts at home and affects the entire province and country,” he stated.
He continued: “Such refusal harms not only their children but also spreads the virus to other children.”
