Some vessels were reportedly left drifting in difficult weather conditions. Israel response to the operation Israel’s foreign ministry rejected the allegations and described the flotilla as a public relations campaign. Officials stated the operation was carried out to enforce a lawful naval blockade. They also said the action was peaceful and no injuries were reported. The ministry claimed that some items found on board appeared to be drugs and contraceptives. It also accused the group of coordinating with Hamas and attempting to disrupt diplomatic efforts related to Gaza. Organisers reaction The Global Sumud Flotilla strongly criticized the interception and called it unlawful. They said civilians were targeted and detained without justification. Organizers also accused Israeli forces of damaging boats and leaving participants in unsafe conditions. They described the action as an attack on humanitarian efforts and demanded the immediate release of all detained activists. Position from Greece Greek authorities confirmed that Israeli naval vessels operated outside Greek territorial waters during the incident. Officials said no prior coordination took place between Greece and Israel. A government spokesperson added that the situation remained under observation.
