Two Polish farmers were killed by a Ukrainian missile in November 2022, although it was believed to be a Ukrainian air defense missile responding to a Russian strike. At around 03:40 on Thursday (01:40 GMT), Poland's military used an F-16 fighter jet to intercept the object before it disappeared from radar sensors a few minutes later. A military helicopter was then sent to survey the area. Further southeast, in Lublin and Krasnystaw, air raid sirens went off in response to Russian bombs in neighboring Ukraine. Nearly an hour after Tarnawa Kolonia homeowners reported hearing a loud boom at approximately 4:00, police found the crash scene.
