Their defense ranked third in the league, a major factor in their success. Wembanyama also helped push the Spurs into one of the top playoff positions. Strong Competition in Award Voting Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren finished second in voting with 239 points. Ausar Thompson of the Detroit Pistons came third with 60 points. Despite strong competition, Wembanyama secured all first place votes, separating himself clearly from the rest of the field. Playoff Action Around the League The Cleveland Cavaliers took control of their series against the Toronto Raptors with a 115 to 105 win. Donovan Mitchell scored 30 points while James Harden added 28. The Minnesota Timberwolves made a strong comeback against the Denver Nuggets, winning 119 to 114 after trailing by 19 points. Anthony Edwards led with 30 points and 10 rebounds.
