Before 1980, there had been a notable expansion of the healthcare system that resulted in the construction of 334 dispensaries, one medical college, and a variety of healthcare facilities.
These include primary health centers, rural health centers, teaching hospitals, civil hospitals, district headquarters hospitals, and maternity and child health facilities. This coordinated effort greatly reduced health issues among the people of Balochistan.
As we go forward to the present, Balochistan’s healthcare system has experienced a stunning transformation.
Presently, the province has an extensive network that includes 33 district headquarters hospitals, 13 civil hospitals, 18 teaching hospitals, 541 dispensaries, 91 maternity and child clinics, 756 primary health facilities, and 116 rural health centers.Specialized facilities like the Quetta Institute of Cardiology and the Balochistan Institute of Nephrology in Quetta, as well as hospitals in key places like Gwadar like the GDA Hospital and Pak China Hospital, are noteworthy contributions to the healthcare infrastructure. These establishments serve as cornerstones in guaranteeing that high-quality healthcare is accessible throughout Balochistan.
