A significant step in the Center’s strategy to enlist foreign partners to oversee its important state-run assets has been taken with the federal government’s decision to turn over management of Islamabad International Airport to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to The News on Friday, the decision was made Thursday at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Inter-Governmental Commercial Transactions (CCoIGCT), which is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
The airport will be transferred under a framework agreement between the government and the government (G2G), officials said.
