The British businessman,59, was one of the people who perished early on Monday near Porticello when the Bayesian vessel capsized in rough seas.
Five more people’s bodies have been found, and Hannah, the 18-year-old daughter of Mr. Lynch, is thought to be the seventh person still missing.
Mr. Lynch was a well-known player in the UK computer sector, where his support of profitable businesses earned him the moniker “British Bill Gates,” in reference to the creator of Microsoft.
He was acquitted earlier this summer, but he was then involved in a protracted legal battle that culminated to his contentious extradition to the US.
Mr. Lynch was referred to as “the most brilliant mind and caring person I have ever known” by his close friend and coworker Andrew Kanter.
He remarked, “I had the honor of working beside someone unmatched in their understanding of technology and business for nearly a quarter of a century.”
Mr. Lynch was described as “an irreplaceable loss not only to those that loved him but also to the country” by former editor of the Sun newspaper David Yelland.
“He is the UK’s greatest tech entrepreneur of recent decades, a family man, a long-time client of my business, and a friend,” he stated.
