The winners of the Travel Photographer of the Year 2025 have been revealed, showcasing breathtaking moments from across the globe. From sacred rituals to fleeting acts of survival, these images highlight the power and beauty of travel photography.
Chris Coe, TPOTY founder, praised Maloukos’s skill. He said, “Capturing movement like this requires extreme precision. These images convey rhythm, reverence, and emotion entirely in camera, without over-processing.” Judge Jeremy Hoare called this work “one of the best over the 23 years of these awards.”
Travel Image of the Year: Dana Allen, US
Dana Allen won Travel Image of the Year for his striking photo of a bull elephant in Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The elephant, covered in dust, peers through a single visible eye.
Young Travel Photographer of the Year 2025: Jamie Smart, UK
Judge Krystal Chryssomallis highlighted her sensitivity and awareness in storytelling. “Jamie understands light, timing, and framing. Her images communicate meaning and tell a compelling story.”
Global Competition Highlights
The competition received over 20,000 submissions from 160 countries. The judges noted that the standard this year was exceptionally high. “The strongest photographs carried depth, intention, and emotion,” said Chryssomallis.
