DJ Sian Eleri of Radio 1 will host the show, which is called Y Llais, which is Welsh for “The Voice.”
The Grammy-winning musician gave a performance at the King’s coronation in May of last year.
The voice format sees its 75th worldwide adaptation with the release of the Welsh-language edition.
In the show, competitors engage in “blind auditions” with the hopes of impressing the coaches and getting them to move on to the next round.
Sir Tom Jones, another Welshman, is a part of the coaching team on the ITV series The Voice UK.i.am, LeAnn Rimes, and Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher from McFly.
The Welsh version’s winner will receive further opportunities to perform on S4C programs in addition to a 12-month mentoring program.
