RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) claimed in a statement on Tuesday that at least eight Pakistan Army personnel accepted martyrdom when security forces successfully stopped a terrorist attack at Bannu Cantonment, killing all 10 insurgents.

The terrorists attacked the Bannu Cantonment in the early hours of July 15, according to the military’s media wing, but the security forces members successfully blocked their effort to infiltrate the facility.

The militants, according to the ISPR, crashed an explosive-laden car into the cantonment’s surrounding wall after failing to gain entry.

Eight courageous sons of soil died as a result of the suicide explosion, which caused damage to the surrounding infrastructure and the collapse of a section of the wall, according to the ISPR.

“This prompt and efficient response from the security personnel averted a serious emergency, sparing many innocent lives. The statement said, “The security forces’ brave and selfless action is a testament to their unwavering resolve in the fight against terrorism.”

The Hafiz Gul Bahadur gang, which operates out of Afghanistan and has previously used the territory of its neighbor to carry out terrorist strikes inside Pakistan, is said to have carried out the attack, according to a military official.

The statement also reaffirmed the security forces’ commitment to protect the nation from the threat of terrorism and their willingness to take all necessary precautions against threats originating from Afghanistan.
