After the eye scan, users receive a badge that says "Proof of Humanity". The badge is displayed on the user's profile to prove that they are a genuine person. The Iris Scan system works The user can verify their identity using a mobile application or an orb-shaped scanner. This scans captures the colored portion of the eye, the iris. After the scanner is approved, a digital ID called World ID will be created. The ID can be stored in the phone of the user and used on all supported platforms. World Network Behind the Technology Worldcoin, formerly known as Worldcoin, is the source of this technology. The technology is being developed by Tools for Humanity. Sam Altman co-founded and chairs the startup, which also runs OpenAI.
