The US Supreme Court has consented to hear TikTok’s final legal arguments against its sale or prohibition in the US.
TikTok and its parent firm, ByteDance, have denied any connection to the Chinese government, which is why the US government is pursuing legal action against the app.
Nine days before the ban is set to go into effect, on January 10, TikTok and ByteDance will have the opportunity to present their case before the Supreme Court justices, who declined to grant their plea for an emergency injunction against the law.
An attempt to repeal the law was denied by a federal appeals court earlier in December.
