On Sunday Nite Football, Washington overcame the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth quarter to win 27–10.
This marks the Commanders’ first comeback victory of the season, and they are currently 2-4-1 overall. As the club deals with being without Jalen Hurts and other important players, Philadelphia falls to 2-6 and has now dropped six straight games.
Jayden Daniels put together a few drives to help Washington rally from a 10-0 deficit in the first quarter. With backup Tanner McKee finding it difficult to read the game for Philadelphia, an 11-0 lead in the fourth quarter clinched the deal.
Jayden Daniels still has work to do
Since his incredible debut year, the third-year quarterback has not performed at his peak. Although he showed some promise against a strong Philly defense, he still has to improve if he wants to advance as a quarterback and reach true top status.
Daniels caught 16 of 29 passes for 217 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions. When necessary, he produced some good lobbed deliveries, but his pocket awareness is erratic. Additionally, he scrambled twice for twenty-three yards. Daniels’s next move will determine Washington’s destiny.
Eagles star Saquon Barkley appears off
Saquon Barkley was reportedly dealing with injuries before to the game. It became rather obvious that the star was being impeded.
Despite getting a score in the first quarter, he only managed 30 yards on 13 runs as backup Elijah Mitchell carried the ball 11 times. In what is turning into a losing season, the Eagles may need to better manage their top player. Barkley also caught a pass for 24 yards.
NFC East remains unpredictable
Who is going to win the NFC East? Despite having a bye week and leading 4-2-1 thus far, the New York Giants’ potential is still unknown without Jaxson Dart at center. Is it possible for J.J. McCarthy to resurrect his career in New York City?
Despite having the healthiest players on the field, the Dallas Cowboys just lost to the Gardner Minshew-led Arizona Cardinals at home, falling to 3-5. They’re not doing well.
Despite their 2-4-1 record, Washington appears to be a club still trying to figure out who they are under Daniels.
