ISLAMABAD: Over the past year, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has retreated from its main demands, which include holding new general elections, changing the government, and conducting a comprehensive investigation into claims of election tampering in 2024.
Regaining political space in the hostile climate and winning respite for its imprisoned leadership, including former prime minister Imran Khan, are the party’s new priorities.
According to party sources, the majority of PTI leaders now see the pointlessness of going up against the strong military institution, which has always had a significant influence on Pakistani politics.
