As the rivalry between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMl-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) grows more heated, PMl-N leader Nawaz Sharif was criticized by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Tuesday for pulling out of the debate.
Political tensions between the two erstwhile allies have escalated in recent weeks as they have become as significant political players in the nation, vying with one another for much-desired territory in Punjab, which is expected to be crucial in the forthcoming elections on February 8.”Another day passes and Nawaz Sharif has still not accepted our invitation to participate in a live discussion between the PM contenders. In a social media post, Bilawal added, “It appears the would-be fourth prime minister is too cowardly to engage me in a debate and give the people of Pakistan a chance to make an informed decision on the election day.”
