Voters “feel they’re being asked to make financial sacrifices and changes in lifestyle when they know the impact on global emissions is minimal,” according to a recent analysis by the former prime minister of Labour.
He thinks all governments should reconsider their strategy because it isn’t working, but he doesn’t demand that Labour stop its efforts to decarbonize the UK economy.
Labour was asked to stop the “mad dash” to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 by the Conservatives, who have joined Reform UK in opposing this objective. However, Downing Street stated that it will not be altering its course.
