Khawaja Asif, the minister of defense, issued a warning on Friday that if India violates the Indus Waters Treaty by constructing any kind of infrastructure on the Indus River, Pakistan would strike.
Since the April 22 attack on tourists in the picturesque resort town of Pahalgam in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which claimed at least 26 lives, tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi have been elevated.
Without offering any proof, New Delhi blamed Islamabad for the attack and launched a series of harsh actions to sever ties, including blocking the Wagah-Attari border crossing, suspending the IWT, and canceling Pakistani visas.
