NEW DELHI: The Indian government has arrested a professor who openly criticized pro-war attitudes and launched legal actions against academics, journalists, and private companies thought to be critical of its recent military campaign against Pakistan.
The New York Times reported that the Modi government has regularly used criminal charges, legal investigations, and travel restrictions in response to opposition during the last ten years.
