For the fiscal year 2025–2026, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has unveiled a record budget of more than Rs3.10 trillion, a 30% increase over the previous year.
Officials claim that this budget is the biggest in AJK’s history.
While non-development spending is anticipated to total Rs261 billion, the proposed budget allots Rs49 billion for development expenditures.
The proposed pay and pension increases for government workers, which would be in line with those made by the federal government, are a major centerpiece of the budget.
The AJK Legislative Assembly budget session was tainted by political tensions.
