Despite his pride in his Oscar-winning picture Slumdog Millionaire, Danny Boyle would never produce the movie today.
In Boyle’s 2008 film, an Indian youngster named Jamal finds the answers to all of his problems in a Who Wants To Be A Millionaire-style show, thanks to his struggles growing up in the slums.
India and its culture were shown in the film, which was shot there.
The director of 28 Years Later told The Guardian, “We wouldn’t be able to make that now.”
And it ought to be that way. Now is the moment to consider all of that. We must examine our cultural baggage and the impact we have had on the world,” he added.
