The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports that two more low-intensity earthquakes struck Karachi on Friday night, bringing the total number of tremors this month to 49.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the second earthquake’s epicenter was in the Malir area, while the first earthquake’s was 13 kilometers southeast of Korangi and 4 kilometers deep.
According to the seismic monitoring center, the first earthquake occurred in the port city at 5:28 p.m.
The second earthquake, which had a Richter scale rating of 2.6, struck at 7:31 p.m., according to the PMD. The epicenter of the earthquake was 3 kilometers west of Malir, and it measured 15 kilometers in depth.
Although there were no reports of damage or injuries, the earthquakes caused alarm among the locals.
