PESHAWAR: Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), has denied rumors that Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is requesting his resignation. He claims that the party still has the mandate, which was granted to him by the previous prime minister.
“I am here because the PTI founder has trust in me […] This is his government, and his mandate,” the provincial chief executive said in a statement on Sunday.
According to sources, the imprisoned former premier stated a day earlier that Gandapur need to step down if he is unable to uphold peace and order in the province. Citing the PTI founder, they stated, “Ali Amin Gandapur should resign if he cannot bring peace back.”
