KARACHI: After fruitful negotiations with the federal government, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) and the Shia Ulema Council have decided to postpone their scheduled march from Karachi’s Ancholi to the Pakistan-Iran border.
MWM leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry spoke at a joint press conference in Karachi, where they achieved an accord on a seven-point agreement.
Speaking at a press conference following late-night negotiations led by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, the minister stated that a seven-point settlement had been reached between the government and the MWM leadership.
The Taftan border had not been reached, he said, and he thanked the MWM leadership for calling off the protest march.
