Fatima Sana, the captain of the Pakistan women’s cricket team, was officially reprimanded for violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during Wednesday’s first Twenty20 International match against Ireland in Dublin.
Fatima was deemed to have violated Article 2.8 of the Code, which deals with “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match,” according to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The incident happened during Pakistan’s batting in the thirteenth over. Fatima was given out caught behind, but she stayed at the crease and then slowly walked away, which was considered a sign of disapproval.
