ISLAMABAD: According to The News, Minister of Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan presented a five-year plan (2024–29) to privatize 24 state-owned businesses (SOEs) in three stages before the National Assembly on Thursday.
A complete list of entities scheduled for sale was part of the proposal, which was revealed during Question-Hour in a written response to MNA Ramesh Lal.
Ten significant public organizations will be privatized in the first phase: First Women Bank Limited (FWBL), Gujranwala Electric Supply Corporation Limited (Gepco), Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco), Faisalabad Electric Supply Corporation Limited (Fesco), Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Roosevelt Hotel, Zarai Taraqiati Bank Ltd (ZTBL), and Pakistan Engineering Company (Peco).
