Beijing announced on Monday that the disastrous flash floods that have swept through areas of Pakistan have not claimed the lives of any Chinese citizens.
“At this time, we are not aware of any Chinese citizens having lost their lives in the disaster,” Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning stated during a routine press briefing on Monday. The situation is still being checked by our embassy in Pakistan.
She conveyed China’s condolences for the death toll and damage brought about by the floods, which have killed hundreds of people and forced many more to flee their homes in various areas.
“We have observed that numerous locations have had significant rainstorm disasters that have resulted in property losses and fatalities.
