Pakistan’s election fever is at its height as independent candidates and political parties employ a variety of strategies to draw in voters before the polls on February 8.
Voting is a national duty that the people must do, but it is also a national obligation.
Every constituency is engaged in the general election campaign, but NA-260, the nation’s largest by area, is in a unique position, according to Geo News.
The NA-260 constituency, which includes the regions of Chagai, Nushki, Kharran, and Washuk, is located in the northwest of Pakistan’s Balochistan province. This constituency is bordered by Iran to the west and Afghanistan to the north.
A number of political candidates from Pakistan will run in this constituency in the upcoming elections: Sardar Fateh Muhammad Hassani of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz; Abdul Qadir Baloch of the Pakistan Peoples Party; Muhammad Othman Badini of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl; Muhammad Hashim Notezai of the Balochistan National Party; and Ghulam Qadir Mandokhail, an independent backed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
There are an estimated 1,040,000 people living in NA-260, of whom 365,595 are registered voters. There are 163,306 registered female voters and 202,289 registered male voters in the constituency.
This constituency, designated as NA-268 in the 2018 elections, saw the victory of Balochistan National Party candidate Muhammad Hashim Notezai with 32,139 votes, followed by independent Sardar Fateh with 27,903 votes.
