Chinese President Xi Jinping has stated that his country is “ready to work with” newly elected President Asif Ali Zardari and congratulated him on his election as Pakistan’s 14th head of state.
In his greeting, President Xi stated that China and Pakistan are excellent neighbors, friends, partners, and brothers, and that the two nations’ unbreakable friendship is a choice of history and a priceless treasure of the two peoples, according to state-run Xinhua.
Xi stated that in recent years, the two countries have maintained close high-level exchanges, supported each other on issues concerning their respective core interests and major concerns, achieved fruitful results in the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and maintained a high level of development in bilateral relations.
According to Xi, the world is experiencing unprecedented rapid change, and China-Pakistan relations have become increasingly important.
The Chinese leader stated that he values the development of China-Pakistan relations and is eager to collaborate with President Zardari to continue the two countries’ traditional relationship.
The Chinese president also urged for greater development of the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, as well as the acceleration of the construction of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era, to benefit the two peoples.
