Zendaya will travel to Australia to host the premiere of her new sports film Challengers, according to recent rumors.
The Euphoria actor’s new feature will release later this month, on March 26.
Although little information about the premiere have been published, it is expected to take place at Sydney’s State Theatre, where she will be joined by co-stars Mike Faist (West Side Story) and Josh O’Connor (The Crown), as well as producer Rachel O’Connor.
For those unfamiliar, Challengers tells the story of Tashi (Zendaya), a former tennis prodigy turned coach, who marries Art (Mike Faist), a champion who is now on a losing run. To shake him out of his rut, Tashi devises an unexpected strategy: a challenger event.
However, tension rises when they discover a burnt-out Patrick (Josh O’Connor), Art’s old best friend and Tashi’s previous boyfriend, on the internet.
Luca Guadagnino’s next film will make its US debut on April 26, 2024. The picture was originally scheduled to open on September 15, 2023, but a SAG-AFTRA strike forced a reschedule.
