As the world observes International Day to Combat Islamophobia, top leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Maryam Nawaz, have demanded concrete measures to combat discrimination and unfair treatment of Muslims worldwide.
“Islamophobia undermines the very essence of our shared humanity, as well as the principles of tolerance, compassion, and pluralism,” the PPP chief said in his message for the International Day to Combat Islamophobia.
Bilawal, in a statement, emphasized the importance of the International Day to Combat Islamophobia as a painful reminder of the critical need to raise awareness, cultivate mutual tolerance and understanding, and implement effective methods to eradicate this modern plague from our society.”It is imperative that we confront Islamophobia head-on and work tirelessly to dismantle the stereotypes and misconceptions that perpetuate it,” he said.
