After extensively monitoring Zendaya on the set of Dune: Part Two, Denis Villeneuve prophesied that she would make her directing debut.
The prediction was made during the director of Dune’s interesting interview with Steven Spielberg on The Director’s Cut podcast, when he was asked whether he had ever collaborated with any aspiring directors by another director.
After praising the Challengers actress for her professionalism and commitment to her craft, the Canadian director did not hesitate to mention her by name.
He said, “The truth is that Zendaya spent a lot of time behind the camera listening.”
He went on, “She’s so clever, but shows she’s brilliant in her strong presence, and she was always on set even when she wasn’t shooting,” emphasizing her curiosity and enthusiasm in the filmmaking process.
